The Dime Dime Baby Meme Explained
Dime Dime Baby — the Bby Wow guy in English — is a short party clip that turned into one of TikTok’s biggest AI trends of October 2026. Here is where it comes from, why the song is attached to it, and why everyone is suddenly putting themselves in it.

The original clip
The clip was filmed at a quinceañera — a fifteenth-birthday party — in Mexico in 2025. A member of the event staff films himself on his phone as he dances out of the party toward the camera, takes an enormous bite, chews with his cheeks full while staring deadpan into the lens, and then spins around and dances back to work.
The deadpan stare is the whole joke. It circulated on Mexican social media long before it became a global meme, and the original upload by the person who filmed it gathered millions of views.
Why “Dime Dime Baby” and “Bby Wow”?
The two names describe the same meme in two languages. Spanish-speaking TikTok calls it Dime Dime Baby; English-speaking TikTok calls the dancer the Bby Wow guy. Both come from the sound most remakes use: a sped-up cut of “BbY WOW” by KAROL G, Judeline and rusowsky.
“BbY WOW” was released on August 7, 2026 on KAROL G’s album No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto and became a global hit, topping Billboard’s Global 200 and the Spotify global chart. Its rhythm happens to land right on the bite and the stare, which is why the two stuck together.
How it became an AI trend
In October 2026 the clip came back in a new form: instead of recreating the dance in real life, people started swapping someone else into the dancer’s place with AI — themselves, friends, parents, babies, pets, even cowboys and bodybuilders. Green-screen templates and CapCut tutorials followed within days, and searches for “dime dime baby ai” and “bby wow ai” spiked.
The appeal is simple: the moves never change, so the joke is entirely about who is doing them.
Is it a filter?
Not exactly. Face filters track your face in a live camera; the Dime Dime Baby trend uses a finished clip, so the swap is done by an AI video generator from a photo. That is why most remakes look like a full person — face, hair and outfit — rather than a face pasted on.
